How Action Energy collects, uses and protects the information you share with us.
Last updated 22 October 2026
Action Energy is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our website, submit a form, or work with us as a homeowner, commercial client or installation partner, and what we do with it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a form, request a quote, apply to the Integrated Partners program or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing and property addresses, company name, and any other details you choose to include in your message.
Information from partner applications. If you apply to the Integrated Partners program, we also collect business information you submit, which may include contractor and electrical license numbers, insurance certificates, tax identification details, business history and project volume, and similar records needed to evaluate your application and submit it to financing providers.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we automatically receive technical data including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the site that referred you. If you arrive from an online advertisement, we may also receive the click identifier that advertising platform assigns, so we can tell which advertisements produce genuine inquiries.
2. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, analyze traffic, personalize content and measure the performance of our advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function properly if you do.
We use third-party analytics and advertising services, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set their own cookies and may collect information about your visit. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and manage advertising personalization in your Google account settings.
3. How we use your information
- Responding to your inquiries and providing quotes or proposals
- Scheduling site visits, consultations and partner calls
- Designing, permitting, installing and servicing solar, storage and charging systems
- Evaluating and onboarding Integrated Partners applicants, and submitting financing applications on their behalf
- Sending project, service and account updates
- Improving our website, our services and our advertising
- Meeting our legal, tax, licensing and regulatory obligations
4. How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We share information only as needed to do the work, and only with:
- Service providers who operate on our behalf, including website hosting, customer relationship management, email and text messaging, scheduling, analytics and advertising platforms
- Financing providers when you have asked us to pursue financing, or when you are an Integrated Partners applicant or partner whose deals we submit
- Installation partners, subcontractors and equipment suppliers when they need the information to complete work on your project
- Utilities and permitting authorities as required to obtain permits, interconnection approval and permission to operate
- Professional advisors such as accountants, insurers and attorneys
- Government or law enforcement where disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, property or safety or that of others
If Action Energy is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
5. Text message communications and consent
If you provide your mobile number and consent to be contacted, we may send text messages about appointment reminders, consultation scheduling, project and service updates, partner onboarding, and support.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance.
We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the service providers who deliver the messages on our behalf.
6. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls on the systems that store partner licensing, insurance and tax documents. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, tax, warranty and licensing obligations. Because our workmanship warranties run for 25 years, project records are generally retained for the life of the system plus any period required by law. Inquiry and application records that do not become projects are kept for a shorter period and then deleted or anonymized.
8. Third-party links
Our website may link to sites we do not operate, including financing provider portals and scheduling tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, ask us to stop selling or sharing your personal information (we do not sell it), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframe your state's law requires. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
California residents. If you are a California resident, you have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know the categories of personal information we have collected and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. Both are described in sections 1 and 4 above.
10. Children's privacy
Our website and services are not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated more directly where the law requires it.
